Wow, I have just had Newbury Rugby Club agree that they will give me one of their function rooms for free for the charity auction.... so it's 3rd March 2005 and I have plenty of time now to get lots of things organised for the event!! I am really pleased that they are going to help us!! :O)

That's great news! Have you got a friendly auctioneer lined up?. I know some will help out for charity events.

Gwyneth.... consider yourself booked if you think you can help.... I wouldn't have a clue where to start!! :O) I will make sure there is a PA system for you to use as hopefully the place will be packed!! Paul.... who's involved with the snooker? Anything would be fantastic!! :O)

Sorry. I can cope with standing in front of a class at primary school, but adults?- they're scary!!

Try asking real life auctioneers. You need someone with a bit of know-how to be able to know when to nudge the people for just a bit more money. Perhaps you could get a local?celebrity (rugby or otherwise)to put in a guest performance and maybe sign autographs towards the cause.

How about contacting local restaurants - a meal for 2 could be a good prize and some good advertising for the restaurant. Also bowling alley, rugby club, football club etc for free tickets. Jack x
