As a smoker I burn candles at all times when I am in the flat.... scented ones especially but even normal ones help get rid of the smokey smell!! That's why they use them alot in restaurants!! :O)

I love it when you get in from work and its raining and dark outside. i put on a CD, light all my smelly candles (dining room, kitchen and living room) and cook a lovely meal for my husband for when he gets in from work. I dont know why but the smell of all that together really reminds me of christmas.

I don't have candles often, partly because we have a 9 years old grandson living with us and it's not a good mix! I do have a special frosted glass holder, where I light a candle to focus on family birthdays of those no longer with us.

I absolutely love candles. My husband on the other hand blows them out as soon as he comes in as he can't stand the smell. A few years ago I had some floating candles as we had his family round and their attitude was why are you burning candles when the electric is still on. It's sad! Lorrainex

Is there anyone else like me who burns so many candles - not at both ends!!! When the evenings are long and dark I like candles, lots of them. I also will light up a candle if I have visitors during the day for coffee etc., in the winter but not in the summer. I love the perfumed candles in particular. Xmas and birthdays are really cosy days for candles. Sylvia xxx
