I shall miss it thank goodness, although no doubt there will be some little 'erks' in Lanzarote who want to carry on the tradition. Ann Glos

We only get trouble making teens so shut the curtains, turn the lights out and hide behind the settee :-))

We only get the troublemaking teens too. I have 2 young kids but I don't like anything that encourages them, or others to knock on strangers' doors. Halloween is strictly family for us and we don't answer the door at all. Our son is 6 on the day before so we shall combine the 2 events - he's having an outing to a local "creepy castle" attraction with a couple of friends during the week, then on his birthday grandparents and rellies will be round for a party tea and some pumpkin modelling. On halloween itself we'll make the house spooky and he and his sister will play hunt the halloween creepie crawlies (courtesy of an Asda cheapy halloween goody bag) and will make halloween masks to scare us with. I used to walk round with my kids when they were little and we lived in Bridgwater, but now they are too old for it so it is a trip to lidl's and stock up with sweetes, the kids here are not too bad they do remeber to say thanx most times!!! Bev

McAnne's Gahan-Crazy Report 16 Oct 2004 18:22

All we get is teenagers in scary masks who use it as an excuse to intimidate people in the hope of getting money!! Tried a polite note on the door before asking them not to call and that didnt work, so now I just close the curtains, turn off the lights, turn the tv down low and tape up the letter box!!
