Marjorie No the sticky stuff remover is lemon juice based - more eco friendly than acetone! LOL It seems to work on just about anything too. Sue

Don't knock the microwave crisp maker. It's great if you're on the Slimming World diet as you can eat as many potatoes as you like on a green day and by turning them into crisps you feel really naughty when you're eating them. Still need to find something to make slicing the potatoes easier!!

Bet no one was daft enough to buy this one,but I did!! What fun. The little gadget that turns your hard boiled eggs, into square eggs. I tried it out and yes it works,I was like a kid with a new toy, and boiled several eggs, grandchildren were fascinated, ideal with the square Hovis bread rolls. My daughters told me I ought to get out more. What a laugh I had, I agree about the sticky stuff remover, brilliant. I must put on my Christmas list, square egg cups, now there is a thought!! trish

Kathleen - I always understood that Betterware was a pyramid organisation, cos the reps above you get a cut, and their reps get a cut and so on and that agents are encouraged to bring in new agents etc, but maybe Im wrong! Is it true, you have to buy your catalogues? Also, I was certainly wrong about the orange peeler thingy and you were right - it was Tupperware(now thats DEFINITELY Pyramid selling). However the orange peeler thingy was brilliant and I have to say I still have, and use, Tupperware which Ive had for over twenty years.Um, isnt the sticky stuff remover nail polish remover by another name?

Carole in Dartford Like you I have a microwave crisp maker (but not a tea bag sqeezer - must get one next time LOL) which I used once! Much easier to buy a bag of crisps from the shop! The one thing I would not be without is 'Sticky Stuff Remover'. Don't know haw many bottles I've bought - everyone else keeps pinching it! I think Lakeland also sell it now. It's fantastic for getting the residue from sticky labels off stuff, I haven't found anything it won't remove. My bottle is now under lock and key - and no don't ask, I'm not lending it to anyone, buy your own! LOL Sue

Marjorie - what makes you think it's pyramid selling? Not so, I was a Betterware rep for over 10 years. You work on commission so get paid according to your sales. The gadget for peeling oranges - are you sure that was Betterware? Tupperware did one which was really good and was used as a 'giveaway'. (Yes I did Tupperware at one time as well) Like everywhere else, they have some good things and some downright useless tat - but there are people who just love to have 'gadgets' even though they never use them. Teabag squeezers - never had one and they didn't sell that well either. Same goes for that 'counter-top bin' . In my time I have had people collapse on me and taken them to hospital, called the doctor to sick people, picked up prescriptions for house-bound customers, sat with one lady waiting for the midwife to arrive - thankfully she got there just in time!! Prevented a suicide and found someone living alone who had died two days before - neighbours thought he had gone away. You would be surprised how many people are alone and lonely out there. Sometimes the catalogue distributors are the only contact they have because if the book is not left out they knock on the door.

Well, the gravy separator thingy is useless, as soon as the gravy goes cold it clogs up the spout which you cannot then clean out (but I bet you could buy a spout cleaning brush from them). The sticky stuff for pet hairs, I use a roll of sellotape, pull a bit out, dab, pull a bit more out etc. And for putting mucky spoons and things on I use an old saucer. But yes, I have bought before - a cookie maker, never used, it works but takes three hours to clean, some magic oven cleaning stuff, started to peel the enamel off the oven, so goodbye, an apple c orer and sectioner, works ok for a perfect shaped apple only, magic dusters (no, they werent). Best thing ever was free though, a gadget for peeling oranges, fantastic, wish I could get another but the bloke just looked blank when I showed it to him. And the reason everything is so dear is cos its Pyramid Selling!

Oops, I just thought as soon as I posted, I bet everyone has got a teabag squeezer! LOL Okay I'll admit I bought a toothpaste tube squeezer, just as daft but again it does work. Christine

I used to buy a fair amount of Betterware when I was setting up this home. My favourite is the thing that looks like a big, flat plastic spoon to put dirty utensils on instead of muckying up the worktops. I also have about 6 of those big plastic tubs with white tops for keeping things like Sugar, Flour, Cous-cous and Pasta in. I have, along the way, bought some strange and short-lived gadgets which ought to have saved me from doing anything but turn on the Cooker.

And they sell those white plastic boxes with a lid. Apparantly an ingenious invention for kitchen scraps designed by the guy who was in Big Brother 2. I'm assuming no-one in his house had ever heard of a swing bin!

a) Betterware Yes, I bought a plastic draining board, which is invaluable when I have more washing up than my fixed draining board can cope with. b) Teabag squeezer from Lakeland is in constant use and I think it is brilliant! Some gadgets are so specialist I wouldn't get them, because they would be so rarely used that invariably I would forget where I'd put them before I needed to use them. nell

Oh dear!! Dare I admit that my husband has the wrap around sunglasses for driving and thinks they are great and I have tea bag squeezers (saves tea going everywhere if you use a spoon - which hubby does!!). Chrissie

I bought some plastic handles for holding carrier bags 2 years ago and wouldn't be without them, I can get 4 or 5 bags on each handle and people always ask me where I got them from, also this week I ordered a jug that seperates the fat from meat juices and gravy but I dont normaly order anything because its too dear. jenny x

Christine, my mum has used one of those teabag squeezers for years, and it has always been a source of amusement to us -- until last year when she bought me one!! I wouldn`t mind, but I don`t even drink tea!! I have bought those things that look like double ended suspenders though, to keep the bottom sheet in place, and they work! Frances

Daftest thing I ever saw in their catalogue was a tea bag squeezer. Can't believe anyone would actually buy one. Christine

We get Kleeneze, as well Daniel, it's annoying when you can get similar things from the Lakeland shop in town!, there seems to be a gadget for everything now, just need something for opening them tins with a key, always end up getting cut!..

Some of the gadgets are OK. I usually buy the rolls of sticky stuff that are good for collecting cat hairs from the armchairs. I put pieces of cloth for Holly to sit on but she then changes chairs to one without any cloth on!! And she has white hairs. Ann Glos
