Doug and I just got back. Someone said there were 45 there. I didn't get to meet everyone, but it was lovely to be able to put faces to the names of those I did talk to. Big big thanks to Strump/Donna for organising it and to Gaynor & Rob for the spread and the flowers. Hugs and kisses to all, especially Gaynor - it was a privilege to meet you. Sue & Doug xxxx

Helloooooo We just got back from the meet (quite a long way from Wales!). It was really great to meet people, and bigggg thanks to Strump for the organising and Rob for the hospitality. And biggest hugs of all to Gaynor - so lovely to have a hug instead of phone, post and pc. Got to go feed teenage boys now - grrrr. See you all later - The Mad Red Haired one. xxx Annie xxx

What can i tell you about Gaynor that you don't already know? Nothing.... she is as gorgeous in person as she is on the boards.... you really are my inspiration mad woman and you best be around for a long time yet as you are going to have to massage my feet when i get back from China.... The CR bucket was passed round and I am proud to say that just under £150 was raised in cash... which appears on the page now as a donation from me so I can get the £42 giftaid... Gaynor also gave me another cheque from a friend for £50 and another £110 was added offline through sponsors that chose to put it on paper rather than on-line... the cheque and other sponsorships have been added to the off-line total... So the meet raised (including giftaid) approx £333 and for that both Gaynor and I thank you!! It was lovely to meet everyone, and finally put faces to names.... Strump, you are a star for organising it, Rob the food was fabulous!! Tahnks to you both! Diana xx

Yes, Mel & I had a great time too. We started by driving round Aston Rowant, as I have an ancestor from there, then we met lots of people and had lovely chats with two other Helens (and to think my dad thought it would be a good name as he didn't know any others). Lovely food and chat and so nice to put faces to names. Except that we are now totally confused about Strump/Donna/Sally - it seems greedy to have 3 names! Then we drove back through pouring rain to watch our rugby team beat Bath AGAIN! Fantastic! Brilliant day and thanks to all who organised it and came. Gaynor - special thank you to you for your lovely memento. Fingers crossed for the coming week. nell XXX

My only contribution was the name badges.... and I failed to pre-prepare so my apologies.... that'll teach me to leave everything to the last minute.... I should know with my luck I shouldn't do that!! :O) Hey we got there in the end!! ;o)

I have never used the term before, regarding it as an unnecessary import from "over there", but WOW. So nice to meet everyone who, until now, has only been a name. So many faces, so many names. I tried to imprint them on what little of my brain is left - but at my age...... If anyone at the meet who remembers me is able to e-mail me a picture of themselves, I would be more that grateful and will supply my e-mail address. Gaynor - WOW! Thanks Rob. Len

Had an absolutely fantastic time ! It was the best company in the best pub and the bestest buffet!! (wish I'd had some Tupperware about my person lol) Many many thanks to Strump for the organisation - you did a brill job. Thanks too to Gaynor and Rob for everything they did to make it so special - the rose was a beautiful touch and something I will treasure always. It was so nice to meet everyone and I'm glad to be able to put names to faces at long last! I have photos! Haven't checked them yet - but will post the ones where I haven't cut peoples heads off on the photos page. (could be a new game 'who does this body belong to?') Thanks again I had a great day Magsxxxxxxx

Good lord, I forgot to say thank you for my special rose.... Gaynor, the thoughtful one, supplied a yellow rose for everyone there but me.... mine was PINK!! How gorgeous is that mad woman?

Annie

Annie Report 16 Oct 2004 23:08

I meant to say a spooky thing about the roses. All the way there I kept saying to Henry, when we get there I want to find a flower shop as I have an irresistible urge to buy Gaynor just one yellow rose, but the place was just off the motorway so we never found a shop. I do wish I'd bought one now ... It really was a lovely day and a memory to treasure. Hugs to all that were there and hope to meet others sometime too. xxx Annie Back to chatston pub tomorrow after my friend's baby's christening ...
