Hal, Except for a favoured few there never has been true freedom of choice in this country. If we weren't enslaved by Invaders we were Pawns in the King's Chess Game against his Relatives. Then we were kept in line as wage slaves dependant on our Employers for life itself. Now we are at the mercy of Governments which, whatever anyone says, kowtow to the Moneyed Ones. But if we keep on plugging on maybe our Grandchildren will be freer. It is a worthwhile objective. Jim

Harold, Surely it all comes down to one group trying to dominate and force their own ideals on the rest of society. Doesn't matter whether the motivation is Financial, Spiritual, Psychological, or whatever. The greatest gift God gave to mankind is "The freedom of choice".

I fear America more than many other Countries. A Nation of Misfits who left Europe, Asia and Africa, many because they didn't like the Politics of their Home Nation, and now their descendants are trying to force their views on the rest of us. I would like to know 1) Who appointed them to be the International Police Force? and 2) Why haven't they captured Osama Bin Liner yet? 3) Why is it that they have not won a War since the American Civil War when they were fighting against each other? We all know about Viet Nam, they failed in Somalia, they were 2 years late entering both World Wars, yet to hear them one would think that they have single handedly subdued all the Tyrants who ever lived. The UN will not allow a War simply to change the Governing Body of a Country

Brian I notice your point and I think that Africa is where Africa would be today anyway had we not interfered I often find myself wondering if there should be an international administrative force excluding the Americans who could go back into these countries and set up the infrastructure again.

Chloe Yes true If we all held respect for each other regardless of colour & creed, the world would be a happier place. I dont feel guilty referring to a black person as black. Most black people prefer that to Coloured. we all talk on here. on here we arnt a colour. we are anonymous, we dont judge by colour cos we cant see eachother. would be lovely to bypass colour outside these boards too E x

Amazed with the response. As for the poem, tee hee, rather witty. I hate it the way that in today's world most people see Islam as a violent and aggressive religion, when in fact it is the complete opposite. Any extremists that live behind a religion, and use that religion as an excuse to terrorise others, can hardly call themselves religious. I don't see why any god would want you to kill another person for his sake!?! Where's the love in that? The Bible, the Torah, and the Qur'an, all teach you to 'love thy brother Jew' etc, and it's just compelte ignored by those individuals. Which leads the ignorant of this world to despise that religion, eg, Islam. Gawd, it drives me insane! As for the race issue, I hate all of this politically correctness that is about today. I say the word 'black' and I feel as if I'm being racist. It's so stupid. I had friends who were of a different ethnicity that I am at uni..... I had friends from a different ethnic group at primary school, it never occurred to me then that we were supposedly 'different'. I noticed that the colour of their skin was different to my own, or that they had different religious traditions, but that was by the by. I was walking along the high street in Fishponds, Bristol about a year ago with my friend Juliet, who is black. We were walking outside this pub that is know to be BNP. A little boy of no more than 5, shouted out "eugh look at that nigger". He was 5 for crying out loud!! What are people teaching their kids? Dothey know nothing about respect? Chloe

I love this poem When I am born I am black. When I am old I am black. When I am sick I am black. When I am cold I am black. When I am in the sun I am black. When I die I am black. When you are born You are pink. When you are old You are white. When you are sick You are green. When you are cold You are blue. When you are in the sun You are red. When you die You are purple. And YOU have the cheek to call ME coloured????

There's good and bad in all races. Fortunately, the good out weigh the bigots and fanatics. My Nan Et married my Grandad Bob who was from Jamaica, in 1922. They had to endure lots of hostility in the early years. Her family apart from her sister, disowned her. They came round in the end when they realised apart from the colour he was no different from them. Maxine
