I tell you what was funny, I contacted someone who I knew when we were children. He now lives in Canada. I wrote telling him all about my family and my grandchildren,but never heard a word. Now I think that is cowardice. If you put your name on the web,you are saying to people 'here I am, I'd like to hear from you,' Arn't you. So don't ignore it when people conact you. It is just plain rude One of my son's had the right idea. After getting no responces he took his info off the site and began again. This time he said he had won an obcene amount of money in the lottery. He was inundated with replies from old 'School Friends' Human nature Eh! Made me laugh Rose

I haven't had luck from the trying to find board, but I have made contact with 3 others who share the same G.Grandparents as me. So from not knowing whether my Grandad was an only child or not, I now have details of the 11 children and some of their families. I have also had contact with someone from another branch who shares 3x G. Granparents. Now I just need something from the Irish branch! Jacky :-)

You should read my Swaffield messages,I have asked nicely,I've pleaded with Swaffields who I know are on the site, I've even threatened " Right The Cat Gets It," but nothing,no responce. I always check the current day's messages just in case I can help someone. Afterall, Why join up if you don't intend to play the game. It isn't fair to all the others hoping for a lead. Rose

Good Morning Rosemary, Like so many - i to have never had any success. There so many who out there would like to know if they have a family.

Rosemary I have almost given up on anyone answering me on the trying to find board. Nobody has answered and I am not hopeful at this stage anyone ever will. I wish I knew of other places to put my message. What I do not like is the new way these boards are set up and the success board is always the one I see first, doesnt make me feel any better at all. Ah well. Pat x

As my thread says,I have never had any success finding anyone on the trying to find board. I do wonder if people read it. I always read through that days notices,just in case I can help anyone. So far I have had no luck at all with my own research on here. All my success has come from record offices. Rose
