Yes, she's tried Colofac (yellow mixture), but it didn't seem to work. The trouble is she now has this job, but she gets so incredibly tired, and irritable, it must be frustrating not be able to eat properly, they sent her to the hospital to see a dietician, but she seems wary of trying these foods, in case she needs the loo!..Help

Christine - it's definitely not in the mind!! It's stress related and mine was triggered when I bought my first property. It is a nightmare to live with - can you imagine having to commute home from London?? A two hour journey ended with a race in the car from the station - not fun!! And as for meals - my knife and fork will barely have touched the plate before I was off! Tell your daughter to see her GP he can give her a prescription - she can also get some anti-spasmodic pills which work in conjunction with the Imodium to calm the stomach...........

Christine, I too suffer from IBS and it's certainly not psychological! Can't she get something on prescription rather than paying out for Imodium all the time? I have Colofac (Mebeverine) and Merbentyl. Merbentyl is the better one for me but it lowers the blood pressure and makes me light headed, Colofac doesn't have the side effects but not quite so effective. She certainly has my sympathy! Thanks Anne, Yes, she certainly suffers!, I have wondered about a prescription for it, people keep saying it's psychological, I just wish they saw her in and out of the loo!. Her meals are so limited, it's become ridiculous!..

Christine - she has my sympathy - I suffered that for 8 years!! Used to get all my pills on prescription - much cheaper. If shes looking for a potential cure, tell her to try Aloe Vera juice - tastes disgusting, but it did the trick for me!

Why have the makers of Imodium changed their packaging so that you have to peel open each tablet module?? They are definitely child proof, and worse, ADULT PROOF!! I spent so long trying to get them out I forgot I had a tummy upset - had to resort to hacking it open with a kitchen knife. God help anyone with less than nimble fingers. Definitely no good in an emergency I say.................
