I know I'm pretty useless on the computer, In fact it is a complete mystery to me,so could some patient soul explain to me IN WORDS OF ONE SYLLABLE how to open an attachment on a e-mail. Granny Div Rose

Do not open attachments!!! Make that your rule or else you are likely to get a Virus. If you get a message with an attachment from someone you know then ask them if they sent an attachment first before you open it. If it is from someone you don't know be very wary. There should be a paper clip symbol by your email. If you click on that it usually seems to open. Good luck Jim

Hi Rosemary You just double click on the paper clip on the top right of the e-mail. Then a box will come up to ask whether you want to open it or save it. Unless you are absolutely sure about the source it is safer to save it (I am told). If you click open it, it will come up in whatever format it has been sent (could be word or anything). Hope this helps - if it sounds double dutch I will try again. Chrissie

Jim, thats all dependent on what email programme you're using of course. I would agrr with the rule of not opening an attachment unless you're confident it's been sent deliberately by someone you trust.. and then always virus check everything

Listen to Grandpa!! LOL I never open an attachment unless I know what it is, and its only a JPEG picture to boot!! Cannot be too safe! Rosemary. Left click on paper clip or where it says attachment in your opened email if you are really happy about it.
