I read in a magazine a while ago that a reader's friend went to a school reunion. She started talking to one of her old classmates about jobs they'd had over the years, and the classmate said she used to be a receptionist for a firm that made doorknobs. This was owned by a Mr R Bulgeing. She said it was all she could do to keep a straight face when answering the phone and saying "Bulgeing Knobs, can I help you?" As I say, I read it in a magazine! Glenys.

A cousin has told me that a great uncle on her mother's side of the family was called Fairey. That's not THAT bad I hear you think, (yes I can hear you) but his surname was Gay. :-(
