People I have known over the years (all true). Dicky Bird, Polly Bird, May Flowers, Ben Down, Robert Sole, (think about it), Rose Wood, Jack Boot, June March and Bob Shilling, (only those who remember pre-decimal money will get this one). I think the most cringy name I have ever known was borne by a poor guy I worked with years ago who we all knew as Fred. He confessed to me one day that his real first name was PRETORIA. His Dad had fought in the Boer War in S.Africa. My own first names are a tad cringeworthy: Bernard Matthew. (if anyone says BOOOOOTIFUL TURKEYS I'll leave GR).

I always wanted to open a secondhand shop and call it Emma Chizzit (thankyou Monica Dickens!). I heard recently of a young couple calling their newborn Haig-Lee. Their respective surnames are Haig and Lee so the poor child will be known henceforth as Haig-Lee Haig-Lee. (And wont some future transcriber have fun with that) And no, I dont know if its a boy or a girl!
