Why is it I can receive a letter from Australia in 2 days and yet it often takes 3 or 4 days posted in this country. June

Did you know that when you post a letter and need to know it will get there it is better to use a Special Delivery than a Recorded delivery? Apparently a special delivery (starts at 3.75) is guaranteed to be delivered by 12 noon the next day and is insured up to 1000 pounds (2000 pounds if you pay extra). It is also traceable. A recorded delivery letter is supposed to be delivered within 5 working days but if no one is there to sign for it, it is returned to sender within 7 working days. Also a proof of posting isn't worth much as it only proves you posted the item and does not prove it was delivered. I thought I'd just add my useless piece of info for the day...
