finding someone b4 1837

Parish Registers avaulable at all County Record Offices. Somerset is Taunton, Dorset is Dorchester,etc. You local library will tell you where the records are that you need. Some major towns now have Family History Sections in the library and there are Family HISTORY Societies. There is a lot out there. Try to use the REAL Records. LDS are only as good as the person who copied them,the submitter. They are not checked and there are so many mistakes. I have had a long term war with LDS trying to get them to change inaccuracies on my own tree. Good hunting. Rose on the Island |

No such thing as a birth certificate before 1837.I'm afraid its a case of a long hard slog through the Parish Registers. If you have a Mormon Family History Centre near you, they will order films of the relevant Registers for you to look at, for a small fee (about £2.70) But do make sure they order a copy of the Parish Register, NOT a "computer printout" because that is a transcribed copy of the PR and can contain many mistakes. ive got my great great grandfathers name the year he was born and location he lived.but this was b4 1837..how would i get his birth certificate so i can find his fathers deatils..any ideas..he was born in approx1825 |
