8 small eating apples,8wooden skewers, For the toffee. 8oz soft brown sugar,1oz unsalt butter,1 tbsp.goldensyrup,5 tbsp. Water,1 t-ps. Vinegar.Place all ingrediants in a heavy bottom pan.stirring gently until all the sugar has dissolved then bring to boil,cook briskly until a ndrop of the mixture inoto a bowl of cold water snaps briskly Remove from heat and dip in apples,turning in liquid to get full coverage. Gommas are those rubbery chewy sweets, often look like multi coloured worms, or they do ones with suger on.
