William Report 23 Oct 2004 00:49

Don't ever quit When things go wrong as they sometimes will; when the road you are trudging seems all up hill; when funds are low and debts are high and you want to smile but you have to sigh; when care is pressing you down a bit, rest, if you must, but don't you quit. Life is strange with its twists and turns, as every one of us sometimes learns, and many a failure turns about when they might have won, had they stuck it out. Don't give up though the pace seems slow. You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out the silver tint of the cloud of doubt, and you can never tell how close you are; it may be near when it seems so far. So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit. It's when things seem worst you must not quit.

Glenys the Menace! Report 23 Oct 2004 13:20

I have a "picture card" with that on it, William, tucked into my Filofax. It has a painting of a little bear cub climbing up a very steep mountain. That card has helped me through some horrible times, I can tell you! Thanks for reminding me about it; the poem, that is, not the horrible bits!! Glenys.
