Shopping's done, am just having coffee/Topics Board break!.. Are we all getting used to this new Chip and Pin method in the shops?, I haven't been issed with the new card as yet. Some people in the checkout queue didn't seem very keen, they didn't think it was private enough, with people standing behind them!..

I've used mine a few times now and no probs, I always make sure that if anyone is too close I ask them to give me space for security reasons, never any prob's they usually move away or turn their heads away. :)) Bev

I don't like it. I'm visually impaired so find it difficult. If I am on my own, I pay with cash. M.

I have to use it often in my local Asda, I have complained quite alot about it but no one's listening. I too feel that it is unsafe, they say it's for security reasons but I don't agree. For years we have been told how careful we must be at ATM machines to make sure no one can see our PIN no. Yet here we are in the middle of crowded stores having to imput our PIN no. on view to all. I think it's rediculous - I prefer to sign my name. If necessary have your photo on the card like we do on driving licences. I feel very strongly about this and get quite cross that we have no option but to use this system unless we use cash. I don't know about you but I never carry much cash around with me again for security reasons. Frustrated and annoyed G :-/

They have been using them in Europe for years and with great success, especially at the petrol pumps where you put your card in before you fill up, hence no queues. I think people are generally suspicious here when it comes to something 'new'. Jo.

I couldn't remember my pin number for a new card recently in Asda. She let me sign it!!

I think we all must be aware that if you enter your card number wrongly three times the card is frozen and it can't be used again until you have telephoned the bank. Sue
