Any ideas for this situation. My good neighbor of 12 years has come down with Alzheimers disease. This has happened very fast, over the last 6 months. She is alone here in Cyprus,I am having daily telephone telephone calls from the police station telling me to go and pick her up as she doesnt always know where she is. Now she is trying to give her house away to someone who will surely take advantage of her. I am trying to contact her daughters in the UK but my neighbor does not remember their telephone numbers and I only know there names and areas. Any ideas, this lady up until a year ago was so inteligent. We used to nurse together in th UK and met here by accident and became neighbors. If I could find one of her daughters I know they would come over to see her and take her back to the Uk and perhaps also be power of attorney before someone takes everything she has. Thank you Carol.

Difficult to identify daughters without names/dates/locations. On the legal side she needs to be sectioned or whatever the Cypriot version is so that a personal representative can deal with her assets and prevent her from disposing of them whilst of unsound mind.

Carol, On page one of the Record Office board is a thread called '60 Million Current "alive" names' by Allan Green. Contact him, telling him what you know and he may come up trumps. You can then write to the daughters. He's helped me with a distant living rellie.

Hi Carol Could you not ask the police to be present whilst you search her phone book for her daughters telephone number? OR would her last place of work divulge to you or the police the name and address of her next of kin? Hope you resolve the situation soon for you and for her. All the best Much happiness Debi

If you know there names and areas could you not get someone to search the electrol roll for you? We search for dead people surely we can try for a living one!! :O)

I'm not sure if this would work but I'd go to the British embassy and explain the situation. They should be able to find her family using their files.

Hello Carol,I don,t know if this will help,But as you said that you "Worked together Once" why not try the last place or Hospital you worked at.They may have some records or an old address to let you have. other than that try the local police in the town where she last lived.Good luck with your good samaritan work,Hal.

Thank you all, you are so kind. When I go into my neighbors house I can see her address book on the table, but I think she might get very upset if I look at it.(its like an intrusion) You have all given me many ideas, thank you. Carol
