Okay there is a mirror on the moon and they bounce a laser of it to measure the distance etc ( this is true) it takes something over a second. Now just after the first pulse of light they send another which is going out as the other is coming back. What is the speed of each beam of light relative to the other one? Surely twice the speed of light?? And light itself (photons) has mass. (Thats what blows a comets tail away from the sun). Bob

A vehicle can't travel at the speed of light unless it has no mass - in which case you wouldn't have a vehicle! Case closed!! You should have done more physics, Daniel ;-)) Janice

from memory, light cannot travel faster than the speed of light, therefore, in my opinion, because the vehicle is already at the speed of light, the lights would not project forwards, at all.............and possibly because the heat and light generated in the lamps cannot escape, then maybe the lights themselves would disintegrate................( just a thought)

Is there an answer? I typed in unanswerable questions and this was one of them! What did you find George?

Daniel You want us to think?! But I'm on holiday! I don't think our car speedometer goes up to the speed of light anyway. nell

Erm .... you take your hand off the steering wheel to switch the lights on, flick the windscreen wipers by mistake, jump with the shock, your foot slips off the accelerator and hey presto! you're not travelling at the speed of light any more. Am I close? Mandy :)))))))))

If you're in a vehicle travelling at the speed of light, what happens when you turn on the headlights?
