Looks like we have to wait til later in the day and be prepared like Ann says.I have bailed forhours in typhoons in the past and do hope we are not going that way here. The rain just got into the house through the brickwork. The parquet floor got so wet it came up in a huge 'Bubble' and burst with a bang a few days later. Happy memories Rose

Yes my cat loves a really good thunderstorm.we sit up and watch for ages. It looks as if I might be a bit ahead of the gales then. If they are coming in later that is. I don't fancy driving the causeway on the way to hospital in Dorchester,it can be a bit hairy in a force ten.

I think the wind is supposed to get worse this afternoon, gales all night, and more of the same for the rest of the week, so see how we all are tomorrow morning. I dread the heavy wind- it is the worse sort of weather, I am always on edge until it dies down- I am frightenened of something flying off our roof or a tree branch coming down. So good luck everyone, batten down the hatches!!!

Rosemary In the famous storm of 1987, my Mum's two cats reacted quite differently. Mum woke up to the sound of rooftiles being smashed. She couldn't sleep (dad slept through the lot) so went downstairs. They had a power cut, so she dug out the primus stove and fixed a cup of tea. One cat was cowering under the sofa and jumped on her lap miaouing pitifully when she sat down = the other cat was at the window, desperate to get out and feel the excitement! nell

Good we are all gradually surfacing safely. My cat sat up and watched on the windowsill all night. She kept us up to date on what was happening outside. She loves a good storm and was quite let down. We had promised her a howler. Rose
