The 'flu, unlike the common cold, can give you terrible headaches and fever. Yes, you can die of it too, that is why vulnerable people are on the priority list for the jabs. Sylvia xxx

I'm having my first flu jab on Sat. Still a bit ubdecided,but having had Asian Flue when I felt as if I had been hit with a sledge hammer and crawled to the bathroom,I will give it a go. We are generally pretty healthy on the Island,but it may be because we don't come into contact with a lot of foreign bugs.Maybe we won't have immunity to this next lot. Its a sort of bIRD FLU ISN'T IT?

For two years running I have had a bad experience with the flu jab. 2 years ago I was ill with runny nose, aches, etc for six weeks after the jab. Last year I had the jab mid-October and I still had these symptoms at Christmas. I've opted out this year, I'll stick with aspirin and hot toddies. Aaaaaahtishoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have asthma and so should have it. I had it last year but I have been so busy this month I haven't got round to going to the surgery. I will probably go next week when I have a bit more time. I was ill after it one year but don't usually have any problems. Mel

Can't get the vaccination for love or money over here. People are queueing for hours when there is a supply and some people have even died from exhaustion! Crista

Have you noticed how many people say they have the 'flu, when really they only have a cold? If you really have the 'flu, then you will know it. You'll not be able to stand on your legs. I'm glad that I've had my injection. I'm surprised that expectant mothers aren't allowed to have it, aren't they "at risk" people? Sylvia xxx

Yes, we've all three had ours a fortnight ago. I had a flu-type virus a few weeks back and definitely wouldn't want full blown flu. My parents always have theirs, even though my mum is also convinced that she gets a mild dose of flu afterwards! But it definitely doesn't give you flu, I ask the nurse every time we go lol! 2 years to go before I am entitled to have one. But my 'Aged Ps' have had theirs a few weeks ago. Has anyone noticed how much better nurses are at giving injections compared to Doctors. And Doctors always make a real dog's breakfast when taking blood for tests.

I had a blood test done a couple of weeks ago, i nearly ounched the woman who done it, it has never hurt like it did then, and then i had a massive black bruise all up my arm!!! xxx
