I have been completely confused. I presumed that allow meant you can view, and remove meant that you had removed it from view. How stupid. I bet I am not the only one who is bamboozaled. I had it all in the reverse and had to chang the lot around.

Jenny, I thought it was a bit of a coincidence that my brother married a girl from Sotton and then years later my son met and married a girl from the same place! We also found that one of my husbands great uncles who was born and lived in Tyneside had migrated to Southampton and died there. As you say small world!

I had to email 3 people on sunday to tell them I had access to their tree when they are not connected to me. Emailed GR and asked them to change default but nothing has come be yet!

Jenny, my son lives in Eastleigh and my brother lives in Totton so I visit Southampton about three times a year. We live in the N.E. but I'm always amazed at how many northerners actually live in Southampton.

Thanks Helen and Jenny, I'm trying to let my son in Southampton view the tree because he's just discovered some Merchant Navy records are housed in some archives just near his office. He needs more details and its easier for him to view the tree than me to put it all in an email.

Maureen I believe that when it says Remove it means they can see your tree and when it says Allow they can't. But your's is just one of many, many queries, which goes to show that this system is not as simple to use as it could be. nell

Could some one tell me how to allow someone to view my tree? I've left the default box ticked but on the page that shows who can view your tree it says beside this person REMOVE, what does this mean?
