Can anyone help? For some reason, I can't delete text the way I usually do. I used to be able to highlight the text I want to remove and the press that keyboard button with the arrow and it would be gone. This isn't working now. Any ideas? |

Hi Dan I am totally computer illiterate but I do know what that button with the arrow is! lol Have you pressed a button by mistake like the Alt or Ctrl. Try opening another document in word, paste a bit accross and see if the delete thingy works on the new document. It makes sense to me Dan. I hope it does to you! lol Jeanette x |

Hi Daniel, I think you are hitting the enter button. The delete button has "delete" written on it. Well mine does, anyway. Gwynne |

No no, not the enter button, the one right to the = button and left to insert button. |

Hi Daniel, That's the backspace button. If it's stopped working it could be worn out. Gwynne |

Backspace works when I want delete things individually, just holding it down, but when I want to delete a highlighted block of text, nothing happens. The delete button does the job but I usually use the backspace. |

Just had my training on Word this week, and was so thrilled to learn that I didn't have to backspace letter by letter! What you said is what I've just been taught on what I hope is the latest version of Word. Perhaps you've a bug? I complained that I couldn't see highlighting or coloured fonts in Excel. Our IT guy cured that by accident by restoring the default settings and I spent the rest of the day trying to get the appearance back to my own preferences. I LOVE Bill Gates. Brenda |

The Delete button does the job but it's going to mess me up mentally having to use that and not the backspace. How will I cope? |

Have you solved it yet Daniel?.. Daughter said you'll need a new keyboard!.. (She's just done Word and Excel, at college!).. |

The key works when I press it, but in M. Word when I highlight to delete it wont do it. I'll just have to use the del key. |
