Have just got a text from my friend. She was in hospital overnight, but didn't get to sleep until 1 because the doctors wanted to monitor the babies heartbeats for an hour. She says she is tired and VERY nervous. I'm not sure what to text back to make her feel better!

My best friend Susan is going into hospital tonight for an elective caesarian tomorrow. She is expecting TWINS! She already had three gorgeous girls, and like me is 41; so this pregnancy was definately unplanned!! She hasn't had a great time; she has had a couple of miscarriages and a termination for a very sick baby, so she is quite apprehensive - although she would never admit it. All of her babies have been over 9lb, and the doctors reckon these ones are both over 7lb, so you can imagine how big she is!! She has got to 38 weeks and desperately wanted to give birth naturally, but both babies are in an awkward position. I don't think I could be more excited if it was me. I've got four children and, God willing, she will catch me up and overtake me in one day! Sorry to ramble on, but I am like a cat on hot bricks!! *****UPDATE***** Susan gave birth to two BOYS at around 1.30 this afternoon. They weighed (wait for it!!) 8lb 4oz and 7lb 7oz. Apparentely Mum and babies are all very well. Daddy sounded SO smiley down the 'phone - he's got his boy at last (doubled!!) I am so bloomin' pleased for them. Sorry not to update you sooner, but I have been on the 'phone most of the time, and to the shops to buy lots of BLUE things. AND in a mo I'm off to see them in the hospital. Yippee!! Thank you ALL for your lovely messages - I will show them to Susan when she up and about. What a wonderful day!! CRAIG: All the very best to you and your family...life will never be the same!!! Great!!!
