Hi, my mothers Gallagher family originate from Swinford (possibly Meelick/Kilconduff). I have found cheap flights to Knock airport and reasonable accommodation in Kiltimagh, which I am thinking of booking. Does anybody know how far in distance/time Kiltimagh is from Swinford? Is anybody familiar with the area who could give me any tips? Look forward to hearing from anybody, with any info, no matter how small. Thanks in advance and best wishes Carol.

Cazzie, Kiltimagh is a very nice village, maybe its called a Town but to me its the size of a village. If there is any interest in Railways there is a very good Railway Museum at the old Railway Station (which is actually outside the Viilage/Town), don't know if its open this time of year though. Kiltimagh to Swinford is approx 7miles, Kiltimagh is South of Swinford. Knock Airport is approx 5miles from Swinford (south east of Swinford). So none of the places are far from each other. If you have time and have never been, try getting to Westport which is approx 40 miles to the west on the coast, well worth a visit its a lovely Town bustling, with good pubs, shopping etc., Good Luck Cazzie, Pat x
