sorry to hear you were feeling low. make sure you get plenty of food down you, including vegtables and fruit as it will really help you along in the healing process. also drink plenty of fluid to flush your system through and get plenty of sleep. those are my tips. hope you feel 100% better very soon. scott

sorry to hear your feeling so low, but what you are feeling right now is normal after a hysterectomy, and infections do clear, though i remember it was the having to watch everyone do things for me around the house that made me so miserable, but onve you start to feel better soon you will reap the benefits of the op, i never looked back and im sure you wont too. best wishes sue

Jane, the only thing you need to concentrate on is YOU. Your dear ole' body. The body heals itself in amazing ways, just give it time. Vouchers as pressies sounds a brilliant idea. When we give them, we put them in a box (an old Xmas card box maybe) and weigh the box down with sweets, or something. Wish you better! Glenys x

Well thanks to your replies I feel better already. In fact this is the first day I've felt like sitting for longer than a few minutes at the computer. I like the idea of Christmas in the New year. There's never much to look forward to then is there? More cold, dark nights maybe. And if I'm starting to notice the mess maybe that's a sign of improvement too. I must say I havn't been bothered too look about the last few weeks. At least my stitches came out so I can laugh at the jokes without too much pain! And now this last infection is starting to get better I won't have the added worry of wetting myself either! Jane

Oh Jane. I do feel for you. My advise is this: SOD the housework, washing etc and tell your Grand-daughters you are going to have an extra Christmas in a couple of months time...they will love that. I'm sure they will get loads on 25th December, so an extra special pile from Granny in February or March will be fantastic. Why not go the whole hog and lay on a Christmas spread too!! Can I come - I hate the months after New Year!!

Hiya Hope you feel better soon. If you feel up to sitting at the pc you could do a lot of shopping over the net. I bought all my presents this way for the last 3 yrs and it was really exciting when the parcels arrived. I even bought stocking fillers like sugar mice and kaleidoscopes and things. And re housework - Quentin Crisp had it right - after 5 yrs the dust doesn't get any worse (or something like that) Sending you (gentle) hugs Annie

A few nice words in the card is lovely Book tokens from Smiths Boots Vouchers Record tokens Woolies tokens for toys. Clothes voucher from Next ect This year lots of the family are recieving them, I cant take the stress that spoils xmas every year. Just buying pressies for those closest. My dad hubby & kids. I'm sorry you feel so low. There's nothing I can really say to make you feel better but when I'm feeling down I try and force myself to remember that things will get better and if we didn't have low points then we wouldn't realise how great the high points are! Sending you lots of positive feelings and love becx

and sorry for myself. My operation 3 weeks yesterday went well despite all my nerves beforehand. I was treated wonderfully by everyone in the hospital - right down to the cleaning staff who were present evry day for hours and I did see them clean. But my recovery is so slow. I have had 2 infections and a nasty bug which left me on the loo all day. Not pleasant at the best of times but even worse when you have a wound across your front trying to heal. I have been reading the boards but really lack energy to do anything. The house is a mess. Husband does his best with cooking, washing dishes and ironing. He's even managed a vacuum a couple of times. But he leaves for work before 8 and returns after 6. Then I hear or read that dreaded word - Christmas! Yikes not even thought about what to get never mind how. So maybe I will just concentrate on the 2 grand daughters and forget the rest this year! I just start to feel the recovery process is starting when wham something else comes along. Anyway that's my moan for today. Jane
