Ireland to UK

Could someone please tell me how I would go about finding out how and when my GG grand father came from Ireland to the UK sometime between 1850 and 1880. Regards Michaela

Michaela Its hard to do this people going to & from Ireland within the British Isles did not need passports travel cards or any other documentation. There is also no passenger lists that I know of. The only way of knowing is when they turn up on the census. Not much help, sorry Pat x
