	Most programs (eg MSPaint, but probably your scanner software as well) have the option File/"Save as" ..... and there should be a drop-down menu where you can select the file type (jpg, gif, etc)

	Oh it's a question. Usually when you are about to save the image, you'll have a drop down menu. JPeg should be an option. Select it and that should solve the problem

	Tracy I have a handy little FREE progamme that will do this for you, as well as resizing your pics..you should be able to get it here. bluefive.pair(.)com/pixresizer.htm (remove brackets) Dee x
