As the kids round here call it........Mischief night tomorrow night Nov 4....more eggs and flour bombs chucked at cars and windows , gates moved ,road signs swapped , bins thrown about ,Treacle put on door handles , door handles tied to fence post ,etc etc etc ...Fireworks let off and thrown if the kids think they can get away with it...It was bad enough when we only had Miggy night to bother about but it was only trick or treat a few nights back...we were quite lucky then as only had one egg thrown down drive and that was from older kids as it was done after 10pm.....at least we are at home miggy night and bonfire night so the dogs shouldn't be too bad.(I hope) although one of them will spend all night sat in the bathroom if he can or try to sit on my knee the others won't be too bad if they can sit next to someone and lean on them while shivering!!!!....How many other regions have mischief night

It happens most of the year round here too but Nov 4 has always been mischeif night. We did it as kids it was a bit like trick or treat before we had trick or treat in the UK.Worst we did was ring the door bell and hide and usually to people we knew. It was said that it was the night Guy Fawkes made Mischief , Jan

We have Band which has its origins in mediaeval times and they create havoc on Fair night. They have been known to run on tops of cars all down the street and do all of the things you mention. Teddy Gunnels Band.Nothing to do music, just mayhem. If it upsets you too much there are the new disorder acts, you could approach your local police and Council and demand that the antics are curbed. Sometimes I know they can do more than is acceptable as high spirits. We used to get dents and scratches all down the cars.It wasn't funny. They uprooted plants wrecked gardens ,it was just an excuse for very anti-social behaviour

Hi June We are begining to realise this must be a Yorkshire thing , Know that Mischief Night has been going on for at least 80 yrs in Yorkshire. Don't think it has anything to do with Guy Fawkes being born in York though Jan PS Tonight is Mischief night NOV 4 the night Guy Fawkes made mischief
