Deborah - I don't know which website to recommend, as I use several, but there is a useful book called 'The Good Web Guide to Genealogy' by Caroline Peacock. This details all the main sites, plus sections on surnames, geographical areas and international sites. It gives a guide as to ease of use, cost, content and speed. As it's such a fast-changing field, the website www(.)thegoodwebguide(.)co(.)uk lists any updates. I got my copy from Amazon. Good hunting! Sheila x

Going round in circles, being flung from one website to another(not knowing how I got there and at a loss as how to get back to where I wanted to be in the first place!) Sites where I once obtained some great info now want to throw obstacles in my way such as "do not recognise username/password" or simply do not want to divulge the info they once gave! Ancestry. com ( a horribly complex site to get round )threw up some gems ,but alas no more. Can anyone out there recommend a free (or cheapish) site that is easy to get round for utter prats like myself? I feel like throwing the damn computer out of the window but I know I must persevere as I'm bloody hooked on this genealogy business- my family haven't seen me for 3 weeks(only heard the swearing!) PLEASE HELP ME!!!
