Everyone seems a bit down today,so I looked up one of the Originator names,in a book.Camberwell Beauty. A pretty and Delightfully Coloured Butterfly,Chocolate Brown Bordered with Yellow Speckled with Black Scales and Blue Spots on a dark band. There once was a picture on a wall ,( believe it was a Tiled picture,) High up, as you aproached Peckham, of the Camberwell Beauty, Butterfly......any one know if it is still there?....somewhere along Camberwell new road, towards Church street, Peckham.

Bob, The tiled picture of the Camberwell Beauty you refer to used to be on the front and side of a factory called Samuell Jones in Southhampton Way Peckham. (My brother has worked for them for 43 years) When the firm moved to St. Neots,Cambridge, the pictures were moved. One was put on the side of a library in Wells Way and the other one was put on the shopping precinct at Camberwell Green. Best Wishes Gwenxx
