It is likely that she was murdered more than a week ago. The tape that seems to show her murder has been in the hands of the tv station that usually shows them for a week. They say they will not screen it. Apparently she was blindfolded and shot in the head. Although it isn't confirmed it seems certain. Her husband has pleaded for them to return her body. A very sad day for the world. Diane

No, unfortunately no dream, she has been killed. The only small mercy is that it appears she was killed with a single shop to the head rather then their usual evil way of using a blade. My thoughts are with her family and friends. Kxx

What sad news for her family, and all Iraqis, whatever their religious persuasion. Perhaps we can all say a silent prayer for her family today.....

From Aljazeera(.)com (remove brackets). A statement purportedly linked to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi group posted on a website Friday urged the captors of the British aid worker Margaret Hassan in Iraq to release her "unless she is proven to be a collaborator". "We call on those responsible for her captivity to release her unless she is proven to be a collaborator" with the U.S. occupation forces, the statement said. It also said that the kidnappers were obligated to release any proof they might be holding against her. The authenticity of the statement could not be verified.

I read / heard that the Arabic station Al Jazeera had been given a video recently of Margaret Hassan pleading for her life, but they said it was too distressing to broadcast. I pray for her and for her family, and for the family of Ken Bigley who has yet to be able to lay him to rest. You can "google" search for Al Jazeera. They are usually quite up to date. I don't believe that it is the Iraqui people doing this. Joy

Last I heard a couple of days ago is that the kidnappers were threatening to hand her over to Ken Bigleys captors. What more has to happen before our troops are called back.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. I can't believe the things some people will do to others. It truly is inhumane.

What's the latest? That poor woman, it makes you weep to think that she has spent thirty years helping the Iraqis, and ends up like this.
