we used to gather around as dad lit the "Golden rain". 10 seconds later we're still staring at the thing which produced 2 sparks & a pooooof! Next came the catherine wheel, it never did go round, preferring to go half way sending a stream of sparks one way. I hated the rockets, we used to light it & stand inside lol, cos, sods law, it would ricochet to one side, hit the dustbin & come our way..... E x |

What happened to those pretty little sparkly fountain fireworks we had as kids........... And Dad saved the ONE rocket for the grand finale and it was alway a dud and went sideways........ Now a firework doesn't count unless it sounds like a nuclear bomb going off. I've just spent a couple of hours watching the display at my local pub and now my ears are ringing. They only used to do that when I went to rock concerts.... Must be getting old....... |

Please someone invent a banger firework that doesn't go bang - it is far from as loud as an airbag but is too reminiscent of the noise of the airbag from my car crash. :-( Joy |
