Quite Simple Jim, Make all sentences"Fit the crime"and make sure they are served fully, and not reduced by the interferance of the people from the "Bleeding Hearts Club"i/e.you do the crime, you serve the time. Hal.

You know what I will never understand...........Say a burgler breaks into my house and I bop him one with a vase or whatever to stop him stealing my things or hurting my dog or me. How come HE can take ME to court to sue for damages. The law is an ass. Jo.

Joanne, I understand what you are saying, but if we take away ALL a convicts rights we become worse than animals. After all, you can't deny someone adequate food and drink for example. Today's arguments are about what actually SHOULD constitute "Basic Human Rights". I certainly think that those Convicted of crimes should lose the right to make their own decisions and choices. It was their decision to commit the crime, so at least take that away from them.

Yes, there is. Why is it when a person decides to commit a crime, whateveer it is, he/she STILL has 'Human Rights'? Surely if one has broken the law, they should loose all human rights. Jo.

Make suicide attempts that endanger others, a manslaughter charge - even if it is postumously! Thinking of those seven killed in that train crash - one of them an 8 year old child! Apparently a passing policeman went to drag the car driver out but he had locked all the doors! Selfish sod, as long as he escaped from his life, blow everyone else.............

I'm not sure what law I would change, but to see police on foot more often would be good.

I think I can remember saying this before on another thread - I would repeal the Human Rights Act and start again! It was never meant to be used in the way it is. It is so often used as a spring board to litigation for the most bizarre of reasons (the softness of a convict's pillow springs to mind!). I think a similar Act is probably necessary to protect those that can't protect themselves but there are limits! Magsx

I would restore the rights of people to protect their homes.. by whatever means necessary. You hear of people going to prison because they hurt a poor defenceless intruder. The World has gone mad. Jim

Elaine You can add my name to that as well. Paedophiles should lose all human rights, as these kind of people are nothing more than animals, and should not have the right to be called humans. I say, GIVE THEM TO THE MOTHERS!! Linda

Here is one for all us sad gits who have nothing better to do on a dismal drizzly Sunday. Of all the laws we have, which one would you change and why? Jim
