Hi all, I need your help - please. My brothers, myself and our spouses are trying to organise a Golden Wedding "do" for our parents next year, and would like to try and contact the Best Man and Bridesmaids, most of whom they've lost touch with over the 50 years! Now, thanks to a very helpful person on the site, I've got some possible names and addresses, one or two of which look highly likely. When I write to them I want them to know I'm contacting them for genuine reasons - even though they may be the wrong people. Have you any tips on how to word the letter, please? I have a few ideas, but your input would be appreciated. Thank you. Glenys x

That's an idea, although we haven't organised anything yet. Thank you, both of you! It's given me a sufficient kick up the bum to get started. :-) Glenys x

Yes, I remember the thread Baz. I like that wording; it's just the sort of thing I was trying to think of. Also, being realistic, some of them may have passed on and I don't want to upset anyone - that is, even if they are the right families. Thank you! Glenys x P.S. It's now 10 mins later than when I typed the reply above; I'm coming off site now, so if anyone replies and I don't answer, I'll be back later, OK? See you!
