I think it was just stupidity that made her crash out of olympics. training in the alps for a race in sweltering heat? hopefully now she'll train somewhere more appropriate, but I'm glad she's done well.

Very pleased for her, as much as the physical triumph she had a big psychological hurdle to overcome after dropping out of two races in succession.

I felt proud of her and I thought, 'Well done!' I don't think she looked very well at the Oylimpics. Jo.

I admire Paula,I'm glad she is getting back on form. the on ly comment I have about Greece is whether she was fit enough to race in the first place but all credit to her, she gave it her best. June

I don't have an opinion one way or the other. I didn't see the race and only heard this on the news. Apprently other competitors were not very happy about the fee she received. I must say though I take my hat off to athletes that can endure this type of race. In the paper today reports Jane Tomlinson completed an ironman challenge yesterday which should push her charity target over £1m. The only terminal cancer patient to do so. That's real courage in my book. very well done Jane. Diane

No I don't. I think that the extreme heat and humidity in Greece were just too much. People seem to forget that Paula was not the only one to drop out! By the look of her yesterday, she is still feeling the after-effects, yet she not only competed, which took guts with the world and it's press looking on, but won! Good on yer Paula !! Magsx P.S. According to the commentator during yesterday's race, Paula received hundreds of letters and e mails of support after Athens and has spent her time since then answering them PERSONALLY - now that is what you call a real STAR!

I've just watched the highlights AGAIN & it was brilliant I thought she did GREAT. 200,000 isnt much when you think about it is it? She has down a great job and plenty of encouragement from the crowd looked good, I wish I'd been there, I have watched Paula's career since she was a young lass and I thing she was very unfortunate in Greece, but thats the way it goes she's back and I am delighted to night I am drinking to her health, happiness and all the success she deserves.(no wonder I can't run no more LOL.) I agree with Paul and Pat ,she ran and she came in first but you could see that she was totally knackered ,and was'nt her self ,the lass still is'nt right ,but she is working on it.so cut her a bit of slack eh?.Fred.ptfg.

NO I don't I think she was Brill and I am really glad for her. My moan are over paid football players, they are the ones who don't do the biz unless they are getting enough dosh. Hooray For Paula. Pat x

Paula Radcliffe wins the New York marathon. Does anyone else think it had a lot to do with an appearance fee of over £200,00, is better motivation, than when she gave up at the Olympics?? Diane
