Hi all People are doing this scam ON Landlines also.Iwork in sheltered housing and we have had notices on the walls for years about this scam(police notices).what the scam does is they can phone anywhere in the world and use the landline number so the poor person who gets the bill and knows they have not phoned a certain number will have to pay the bill. BT are not bothered about anybody having to pay for a phone call the person never made so long as they get their money. Sue |

Warning about mobiles You may receive a phone call on your mobile from any person, saying that he or she is a company engineer, or stating that they are ' rechecking' your mobile line, and you have to press # 90 or #09 or any other number. End this call immediately without pressing any numbers. There is a fraud company using a device that once you press 90 or #09 they can access your "SIM" card and make calls at your expense. I got this warning from the intrernet at work, I work in a goverment office so this is not a wind up it is for real. Bev |
