Having been so very worried over the weekend when RT didn't come home, was missing for 32 hours, with all the fireworks going off. He arrived home late Sunday night and hasn't been at all well since. I have taken him to the vet as he keeps making this horrid coughing noise and is very very quiet. Its as if something is stuck in his throat. The vet gave him two injections and if he has not improved be Friday I am to take him back. This has upset me no end as I hate for any pet to be ill.Even his miaow has a sadness to it Lynn

Hi Lynn - hopefully you will see an improvement by the morning :)) I had to take my eldest cat in on Monday - I did put a thread on about it. He had lost his voice and his swallowing very noisy along with a sort half-cough half-retching sort of thingy. Appeared to have something wrong in his throat but wouldnt let the vet look - so 2 jabs and another appointment in 3 days (tomorrow) were the order of the day. Pleased to say he had made a rapid improvement by Tues lunchtime; and even moreso today - just hasnt got his voice back yet. Dont fret too much - it may just be the effects of being wherever he was for that time - maybe it's like delayed shock in humans :)) Fingers crossed for him.............

We've had 5, 3 left, my two favourites Marmaduke and Wellington died first. Now our oldest Sylvester is on the ropes and we are going to have to face up to having him put down or let him suffer. What do you do?

Poor little cat, he's probably so stressed out with last weekend he's made himself ill. He will recover, give him a few more days. Jo.

Thankyou to all of you who replied to my thread. He has been asleep and then came down for some dinner. I am not letting him out till I know he is on the mend, but being a creature of habit he is giving me those big eyes as if to say "Why not mum" Lynn
