What you mean she was late arriving and nearly missed her flight. My god that is terrible news.

also from sky news today.... Two holiday jets carrying hundreds of passengers were put on a direct collision course by an air traffic controller, it has emerged. The planes were taxiing at Manchester Airport when they were accidentally put on paths leading to disaster, the official report into the incident said. Only actions of a quick-thinking pilot - whose plane was travelling at 100mph - prevented disaster. The incident happened when the controller gave take-off clearance to a MyTravel Airways Airbus A321 but "forgot" about it when he cleared a just-landed Ryanair Boeing 737 to cross the runway ahead of the Airbus, the Air Accidents Investigation Branch said. Procedures that should have made the controller aware of his mistake "were not effective", the report said. Instead the captain of the Airbus, with 220 passengers on board, dramatically aborted his take-off. The AAIB said: "The incident occurred following a human error by a controller. "The controller stated that he had forgotten that he had given take-off clearance to G-SMTJ (the Airbus) when he subsequently cleared EI-CJI (the Boeing) to cross the runway." It added: "While procedures are continually evaluated to minimise the opportunities for error, human errors will occur." The controller was suspended and retrained.

I can this this happening one day. We unfortunatly live under a flight path between Heathrow, Luton and Stanstead. Very often the planes look as if they have just missed each other by seconds. It's scarey. Jo.

There have been far more collisions at airports than in the air in the last 15 or so years. There was a documentary on TV about 3 or 4 months ago. And your comment is in bad taste, Bendy.
