Why can't I find info on WWII service records??

Am I thicker than I thought, or is there something I'm doing wrong? Most of the sites seem only to offer history to 1921....WHY?

craig go to national archives and then documents online you can search for medals my dad had 5 that i did not no off dont know were they are though
