Yes, Geoff, that's the 'other issue' I was talking about. As others have said, I think it's very likely that many UFO's are exactly that - something relatively simple that visibility makes difficult to explain, or something that the military would prefer to keep 'under wraps'. It isn't until our war-mongering nature has matured into something less hostile and aggressive that we stand a chance of having a full explanation for all that surrounds us. Also, as long as the military/government thinks it should have a monopoly on whatever it chooses, there isn't really room for freedom of information or discovery for us ordinary mortals.

Given that there are "all these gazzillion planets and stars and galaxies and things out there" and all the billions of years since the beginning of time, it seems surprising to me that anyone from elsewhere would be likely to find this l'il old planet of ours at all, let alone now!

I like to think that I am open minded Lisa but in truth I'm very sceptical. I'm afraid I look for a rational explanation for everything. I even have my own theory about ghosts. Chrissie x

Yep. The outback in Oz ( as they call it.) has many Aborigional drawings carved on rocks or painted on rock's in Ochre, from centuries ago, showing strange human shaped figure's that look like stick shaped men with very large heads. ( a bit like how a 2 year old would draw a picture of his dad or mum.) Even saucer shaped like objects on some drawings. The Aborigional today still talk of a what is known as "Dream Time" They are very interesting people to talk to if you take the time to listen. There Family history goes way,way back. Australia ( as they say ) is the oldest continent in the world and the name "Gondwana" comes to mind, with New Zealand breaking away from Australia c.76 Million years ago. ( roughly) lol. So yes, the 1st Aborigionals in Oz show by there paintings and carvings what they may have seen. Many Geologist, and Archealogist, study Aborigional Paintings. Tony.

Exactly Chrissie. Lots of strange sitings all over the world happen every day, with many people not saying anything. (Nobody want's to be locked up in the nut house)lol Lots of strange things probably go on in our Military, testing things wer'e not surposed to know about. Your right about UFO's, and it dosen't have to mean little green men running about with fish tanks on there heads. Many cases are reported in Oz, as we have such a big spanse of deserted area with thousands of square miles that most men haven't even walked on yet. It's 2,716 km's between Adelaide and Perth alone. Thousands of Km's of open desert. This is where most siting's happen in Oz.Who knows what goes on out there. I travelled across the "Nullabor" plains ( Between Adelaide and Perth.) many years ago. No sign of life for 500 miles, North, East and West. It was night, so i stopped the car and got out to look at the stars. It's a very strange feeling, and your imagination runs wild. A cold shiver went up the back of my neck, so i jumped back in the car and didn't stop until i hit the next town. LOL Tony.

Before I start can I say that I don't believe in UFO's because I think that if they existed they would have made there presence known by now in a more positive way. However, I can understand why people think they have seen one. One morning about 6/7 years ago I was getting up for work about 6.00am and though I never used to look out of the bedroom window (it was still dark by the way) this particular morning I heard a strange whirring noise and when I looked out, to my amazement there was a large silver object hovering over some houses about 300 yards away. There were several lights coming from it. I know it wasn't a helicopter (we often see those). I watched transfixed for about 5 minutes at which time it started to move slowly away and then suddenly shot away and vanished. I never told anyone for fear of ridicule but about 6 months later my neighbour told me about something she had seen one night about 6 months before and she described it exactly. I now look up at everything just to see if I can fathom out what it was but have never seen anything that it could have been either visually or the odd buzzing noise. I believe that it was probably someone testing something and as I said before, I can fully understand people saying that they have seen a UFO. After all UFO simply means UNIDENTIFIED flying object. Yes, saw a bit about that on one of those Documentries on the Tele. Truly amazing considering man hadn't gotten off the ground as yet. So it must have served some purpose. Makes you wonder!! Tony.

Tony, did you ever see that totally absorbing programme about the hill tribes of one of the South American Countries who had created emormous designs on plateaux in their region. At ground level these just appeared as windingpaths, perhaps mazes, but when ariel photographs were taken it was revealed that they were designs of animals and birds, maybe the symbols of tribes or clans. The question raised was why were they made so large that they were unrecognisable on earth. They are thought to have created the designs deliberately to be seen from space. Fascinating Rose

How true Rosemary. We possibly are planet hopping, or have been, as the Sun warms. If you look at the face like Sphinx on mars, it is the only real thing we as humans, can associate with. Our own Sphinx and Pyramids have been around for many thousands of years, and one day mabey in the future someone may look back at Earth and see our Sphinx and wonder if people ever lived there. Thats if everything else is destroyed by either nature or mankind. So there may be no record of us ever being here also. (De'y ja vue.) Tony. ( My opinion only )

I agree with a lot of what has been said and also feel that it is not very likely that we are the only life forms in the galaxy. However relating to UFO sitings,we farmed for some years in North Dorset and travelled a lot into Wiltshire where everyone knows there is a huge military presence.I am certain that much of what was put down as UFOs in the 50,60,70 was in fact secret experimental craft.. But I do feel that the sitings of reliable witnesses like pilots, where the claim to have been buzzed by alien craft have an element of truth. As a species,we are in our infancy, after all we cannot live peaceably on this planet yet So maybe our progress is being monitored by wiser and more advanced beings. It is sad how so many discoveries which can be used for mans greater good are so often hi-jacked by the military. I think that with the passage of time the sun will heat the earth to a point where life here will be impossible, but in so doing the outer planets will warm up and create a more hospitable life supporting habitat.Man will move out into the universe out of the sheer need to survive. I hope by that time we have learned to live in peace as I fear our waring nature rampant in space.

I'm sure I've seen a OFO a couple of times. I believe man in general must be very egotistical to think we are the only 'live' planet in the universe. Jo.

Maybe Earth is the dummping ground for Convicts from Mars.Lol p.s With all due repect to those with Biblical, Theories. Tony in Melbourne, where it is absolutley pelting down.

Just wondered what other's thought. With just about every channel on Tele, showing some sort of space programs, or E.T's, it makes me wonder if the Government or the Military know more than we. ( most likely ) Sometime i think we are being prepared for what they know is coming. But of course if they blabbered it all over the World, people would panic. Tony.

The idea that there are all these gazzillion planets and stars and galaxies and things out there and this tiny planet is the only one with life on it, strikes me as, frankly, ludicrous. It's unlikely to be life as we know it and it doesn't mean that other beings visit us - that's another issue. But life elsewhere? Why not? Of course! And all that jazz! :-)
