Yes, there's something to be said for the pagaentry. Hope we don't lose it. Fancy McDonalds being a treat! I dislike McDonalds immensely, but I know children love it. My grandchildren used to like it, but now they've outgrown it. Sylvia xxx

I stayed home, but a friend took my younger son and her son to London. The highlight for my son was eating in McDonald's! nell

di Carol ships that sounds lovely I bet they sre a super sight. sylvia, Love the pomp and pageantry we get in UK, love to see marching bands with the Royal marines being my favourite. Used to go regularly to the annual Royal marine band concert in the Albert Hall - wonderful. When i first worked for the RAF in Bedfordshire it was before all the cuts and there used to be an annual parade. we were allowed to go and watch, it was wonderful to see all the young men so smart, all in perfect step (these were mostly trainees) and with the RAF central band playing for them, I loved it and was so sad when they had so many cuts that they were unable to put on big parades. Hi Di, Yes, I love a brass band, weddings, etc. I also love carol singers. This is one thing I miss, as well as fish and chips. We don't have carol singers here, do you in Canada? Brings back memories when my brother and I used to go round carol singing and sharing the money on the floor when we got home. Those were the good old days! Sylvia xxx

Did you watch the Lord Mayor's Show today? Were you actually there, or did you watch from the comfort of your own armchair in the warmth instead of standing outside in the cold. Mind you I think you can see far more on television than you can standing outside watching the coach go by. I suppose it wouldn't be nice if everybody watched on television; it would look as if nobody was interested. I love all the pomp and circumstance of the Lord Mayor's Show. Let it continue. Does everybody agree? Sylvia xxx
