I hope the antibiotics work Diana, I had that many years ago, was off work for a week and it was horrifically painful, the dentist was so concerned that he actually did a house call, i think he was worried he had caused it with dirty instruments. it did clear up though so hope your does soon. Take care Ann Glos

Diana Please Please Please complete your course< I cannot stress how important that is. You would be suprised how many people take antibiotics for about 3 days then stop the idea they have is to keep the remainder for the next time and of course the infection will still be there. Hope the pain and infection goes soon I really do feel for you. Kick hubby or the dog (only joking) if it gets to much. Pat

Di you have my total sympathy. I had my last wisdom tooth out about 2 years ago and exactly the same thing happened to me. My face was swollen from just under my eye to the base of my neck. Don't know about a dentist, I think he was a butcher! It was like that for a good couple of months. I survived on a diet of paracetamol and wine! lol. Hope the antibiotics help and you're soon feeling much better Jeanette x

I had a wisdom tooth out about 22 - 23 years ago and had the same thing happen. I went back to the dentist - with the side of my face swollen. He told me there was nothing wrong.!! I went straight to my docs - where i was told there was infection and he gave me antibiotics - he also complained to the detal practice, Liz
