Sean, So glad you are OK after your near miss. I can understand you being wary the next time, my husband was in the car on the M25 and was"pushed" by a lorry from the lane he was in to the next lane, understandably he is now cautious when overtaking lorries. But what can you do to make yourself MORE visible? Probably the driver needs glasses or another driving test! Chin up, Sue

Pleased that you are Ok Shaun, it does just show how a moments inattention and carelessness can so easily cause injury or worse. Do you wear a cycling helmet? Ann Glos

Just proves my point that the primary cause of accidents is not speeding, but the fact that observational skills are lamentable. I was had off my motorbike a month ago by an idiot in a Porche who decided to change lanes without looking, in a 30mph limit and not exceeding it. Several minor accidents or near misses over the last few years have had exactly the same cause, two of them when I was actually stationary!

Glad you're ok. The same thing happened to my brother - the car had stopped at a junction, brother thought car had seen him and was waiting for him then just as he was going past pulled out and hit him - luckily he was ok too. On the other hand my brother has also managed to cycle and crash into a parked car!! Kxxx

So glad you are OK my sister and I were coming home Sat.night after visiting our Mum in DCHospital and were hit by a drver who vered across the white line.Luckily we were neither of us hurt and the damage appears minimal to the car.I did notice yesterday when my husband drove us to Dorchester that I was uncharacteristically jumpy when other cars got too close. You take care now. Rose

Thank goodness you are ok! He/she was probably still half asleep. Either that or he hadn't cleared his windows, was sorting a tape, shaving, didn't expect to see you there... in other words - no excuse at all! When you have stopped shaking, give the kids an extra hug and you have one from me - very glad you're here to tell the tale ! Love Magsxx

i was just nearly run down by a motorist when i was cycling home from work, i was going uphill and saw a car approaching a junction ahead of me , he hesitated ,then pulled out in front of me missing me by 1 foot!! understandable if i had no lights. but i had my lights on with brand new batteries in it ,also i was wearing my high visibility vest that i wear for work (im a railway worker) also brand new , this didnt seem to trouble the prat for a second as he drove away
