I have a friend who is in a wheelchair. She lost a leg as a small child because of polio. Normally she can walk about with her false leg but she has had a hip replacement so for the time being has to use her chair. On Monday she went to the funeral of a dear friend. She had to sit in the far side draughty aisle in the church - okay churches are old and hard to update. At least she got in. As it was a wet blustery day she chose not to go to the graveside. Saved her husband all that pushing etc. So they made their way onto the hotal where the 'do' for want of a better word was to be. But would you believe in this day and age no access for a wheelchair. There was a disabled parking space though!! Jane

I thought all public places now had to have disabled parking and access too..... maybe she should report them!

Julie, I have a back injury and problems with my knee's and sometimes find it difficult to walk, however I, personnally dont believe I am sufficiently disabled to warrant the parking pass, but it doe's get thro when I see people who can walk far better than I can, holding disabled parking passes LEN

One of the best places for "Disabled Parking" is Azda in Eastbourne. You register your car number with them on their computor, then when you drive to the disabled parking zone the gate opens for you.no other cars are allowed in. but the best way is to Bl--dy Clamp them. Hal.

rosemary, you are right, all public used places should by now have arranged disabled access, even if it is through a rear entrance. The hotel was breaking the law. Jane, your friend should write and complain to the hotel and draw their attention to their responsibilities. Len not all people who are issued with a disabled parking ppass have problems with walking, no all have viable disabilities. Tey may have a heart problem, problem breathing etc. ann Glos

Julie you are right. I am disabled (I have Ehlers- Danloss syndrome) but apart from walking a bit funny, I look perfectly normal. I sent back my disabled badge because I used to get so upset at the things people used to say. Christine
