Well done I done the same wrote letters and had no replys, so would have like to phone them but havent got all the phone no and the one that was available was cut off!!!

Halo Everyone, I am building a very extensive Family tree,off this site with someone who links in with my tree. A few weeks ago he sent me names ,addresses and phone numbers of what we thought were family members in Hatfield.I wrote each a pleasant letter and brief details of what we thought the relationship was and included sae. Time passed with no replies.Yesterday I was going through my files and I thought"Huh, they didn't reply" and then I thought I'm going to ring them up. Somewhat nervously I did and when they answered I introduced myself and got a profound apology back as they thought I was a tracing agency and would try to charge them money if they replied.(strange interpretations people put on ordinary hand written letters,but I let it go without comment). We got on really wll and laughed a lot.I don't think they are as closely related as I had first thought which means I'm going to have to go on the Trying to Find Boards again but I'm glad I made contact
