Did anyone watch the remembrance day programme on Sunday morning? They showed 2 men talking about the war and my sister and I both thought they were sons of men who served in WW1. They weren't - they themselves had served. One was 106 and the other 108!! They were both making more sense than I do most of the time! Jacky :-)

Hi Maggy: My mum's gt-grandmother, Jane Ovens, was in her 106th year when she passed away in 1928. Someone in the family saved a nice article about her life.

According to my 4xgreat grandmother she was 102 when she died in 1911. On every census though her age and place of birth changed. I have found only one possible baptism for her which makes her 98/99 when she died but hey old woman are allowed to forget things like age. Especially when they have no birth certificate for proof. She is actually one of my favourite ancestors.

I have just been doing some transcribing for FreeBMD (the housework can wait!) and came across someone who died in 1873 at 102 years old. Can anyone beat this in their family tree? Maggy
