Liz - that's true of BG! I saw the making of it the other day - but then he had just got off Concorde after flying in from NY and had a rather 'gravelly' throat - it was to help that (apparently) ;p

I just think the new version is too 'pop-ie' - if you know what I mean. The original had real emotion to it, and was more hymn/christmas carole like............ Thought Robbie was cute tho - but then I'm biased lol

thats it ann - I remember the first version too - and felt that they were 'just singing ' the words - but I do salute the idea that the money raised from this version will go towards aid for the famine victims in Dafur

Just watched it I suppose our generation can't really judge it, the video was OK, got the right message across but i didn't like the arrangement compared to the original. But then I don't like a lot of the modern 'singer' anyway. I would like to know the opinion of the younger generation on the board, would they buy it, does it make them think? Does it put over te message it intends? There didn't, to me, seem to be any 'feeling' in the singing, were they really passionate about it? Ann glos

Maz (the Royal One) in the East End 9256 Report 18 Nov 2004 18:03

oh missed it! forgot all about it. When I heard the single the first thing I thought was that there was no passion - and not much tune either!!! Sir Bob should re-release the original too - we'd soon see which one sold the most! Has anyone bought the LiveAid Anniversary DVD yet?? Maz. XX

Just heard it on T.V. I don't think it is as good as the original.
