Anthony - I knew a man would understand. Nell - I have a tie, but when I wear it at funerals it always seems a different width from everyone else's. I don't think I have ever been a "guy". Moira - I remember now - she never learnt to set the clock. Sue - the Mini doesn't suffer from rust - a tough of ferric oxidation but no rust Everyone else - thanks for you kind thoughts!

Maybe that's your problem, your wife has noticed your rusty rear problem too and doesn't know how to broach the subject and is out scouring the countryside for a solution.

Geoff I only give guys advice on whether their tie goes with their shirt. nell but you don't want to risk losing what you have, so don't try to repair the car yourself. Get your wife to take it to a garage and do a "poor little me doesn't understand mechanics" act and they might take pity and reduce the bill.

Geoff.. I just want to let you know, that I'm here for you, mate.(sob) Absolulely,( sniff ) devastated to hear about your problem. If ever you need a shoulder, just ring me. The same thing happened to me some years ago now. But i moved on....to better things, and I.... with great courage....replaced the front wheel arch and seatbelt anchor point and repaired the B pillar and bulkhead. TONY'S DO IT YOURSELF REPAIR SHOP. I need some advice on what could be a life changing decision. Thanks in advance folks. I've suspected for some time now that my missus has been having an affair. The usual signs. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up. She started going out 'with the girls' a lot recently although when I ask which girls it is always "Just some friends from work, you don't know them". I always look out for her taxi coming home but she always walks down the drive although I can hear a car setting off. As if she has got out of the car round the corner. Why? Is it not a taxi? I once picked her mobile up just to see what time it was and she went beserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her. Anyway, I have never approached the subject with her. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth but last night she went out again and I decided to check on her. I decided I was going to hide behind my car which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she gets out of. It was whilst crouched behind my car that I noticed rust around my rear wheel arch. Should I take it into a body repair shop or should I buy some stuff from the local accessories shop and try to repair it myself?
