hi ann, it could be circulation,it could be that you have hit a nerve, without realising it,or it could be blood pressure. from what you have said, waiting until tuesday, will do no harm,as i dont think it could be toxemia,so early in your pregnancy, but your gp,will check anyway. best wishes...bryan.

Linda- I know you are right the internet is wonderful for some things but downright scary when it comes to medical diagnosis!! Nicola- that makes me feel better that you had it too during pregnancy, I was not sure if it was related as I had never heard of numbness as being something connected to having a baby. But I suppose so much goes on in the body during pregnancy, anything is possible!! Thanks everyone for your answers, I will try not to worry and see what the doc says on Tuesday.

Hope eveything works out well. This reminds me of a man who had a similar complaint. He said Doctor, doctor. I can't feel my legs. Doctor said, I know. I cut your arms off.

Bendy, no swelling, just the numbness in the foot and a slight tingling like mild pins & needles in my left hand. Seems to be the left side of the body for some reason.

Don't panic! That's sure to be worse for you than whatever it is that happened to your foot. I haven't been pregant but my sister has lots and each time strange medical things happened during her pregnancies. She also managed to produce really healthy babies each time as well, and with minimum fuss in the end!

Does any one know anything about what causes numbness in feet? My left foot went numb just below the ankle on Thursday night, I am only gradually getting my feeling back now. I phoned for a doc's appointment on Friday as I am 4 months pregnant so wanted it checked out, but they can't see me until earliest Tuesday. I just googled it and have scared myself silly with all the possible illnesses, so decided to ask on here as there are some very knowledgable people. I know I am not diabetic as I have had the tests done for the pregnancy, so that rules that out. Any other ideas?
