This is very sad....I was washing up after dinner and realised that my best buy was a set of pans...how sad is that ???? Over 15 years ago I invested in a set of Prestige 'Lifetime' pans (I bought them from a friend's catalogue and she couldn't believe I was paying almost 100.00 pounds for them) and so far they are living up to their name...not a mark...still shiny...my pride and joy....does anyone else have a 'best buy....anyone as sad as me????

ive thought about it and i have had to replace everything over last 18 years , ive had 6 cookers 4 hoovers, 3 washing machines, 3 fridge freezers and those were only over 12 years as army gave us fridges, in fact they had to replace 2 cookers as one fell apart it was so old and the other just gave up, and the third they decided to change from gas to electric

When me and my first hubby first set up home together, in 1975. A chap came to the door selling his wares. I could not afford much of his stuff so paid £5 for a carving knife. He promised it would last ten years. One side for carving meat and one for cutting frozen foods. I never believed it would work. Twenty nine years on I am still using it. It still cuts through a medium sized piece of frozen meat. You have just made me think of a new thread to put up. Keep em peeled. Jenny
